I suspect Liberation theology may make headlines in the future, especially come November, so here is a list so far of reflections on Liberation theology, Jeremiah Wright, James Cone, Barack Obama, and the media fiasco. I have also emphasized the posts I believe to be the most important. Numerically the list ends with the most recent:

15. Politics and Faith in North Carolina: Gregory Jones, dean of Duke’s divinity school, J. Kameron Carter, professor at Duke, and William Barber II, president of North Carolina’s NAACP, are interviewed on their local tv station.

14. Wright, Cone, Dorrien, and the New York Times: Noting a decent piece on liberation theology in the New York Times and a short notation on Catholic Liberation theology and the belief, or lack thereof, of the United States government introducing AIDs into the black community.

13. Reflecting on Wright: Towards a Negative Theology of Wright: A reflection on what Wright is not: a crazy person, a man with “issues”, or a reverse racist.

12. Wright was on Moyers: The video of Wright being interviewed on Moyer’s Journal.

11. Cone on NPR: Pointing to an interview of Cone on NPR.

10. Cone and Carter: Reflecting on the need to understand Cone in order to understand Carter.

9. Cone Explained: How the Media, Politicos, and Others Like Them are Stupid as a Brick and Got it All Wrong: Explaining the significance of Tillichian symbolism in Cone’s work, how one should rightly understand what Cone does say, and a link to Carter’s critique.

8. Carter on Obama: Citing J. Kameron Carter’s response to Obama’s speech.

7. Understanding Wright by Understanding Cone: Black Liberation Theology from Cone: A very short introduction to reading Cone.

6. Wright’s Sermon: A longer video of Dr. Wright’s sermon where he utters the infamous phrase “God damn America.”

5. A Humble Suggestion: Suggesting a book along the title of Religion Still Matters for Cornel West.

4. Cone on CNN?: A rumor that hasn’t seemed to have panned out unfortunately.

3. Obama, Race, and Theology: A theological analysis of Obama’s speech.

2. Talking about Obama and His Church: A friend and I talking about the possibilities of a having a president who has been exposed to liberation theology.

1. Cone on Moyers: James Cone was interviewed on Moyer’s Journal. This is the place to start, which interestingly, was months before the Wright videos emerged.
